There are many different types of schools in New York City. There are public schools, private schools, charter schools and even Russian schools. Still, with all these schools, we feel there is a need for one more - WunderKid.
The mission of our school is to ensure that every child preserves and develops their natural desire to learn and explore. We do this by creating a stimulating environment for every class so we can teach our lessons by adapting to the way the children learn. Just like every reader understands a story the way they read it, every student understands the subject matter in their own special way.
Children learn this way at a very young age. As educators and parents ourselves, we truly understand that not only do parents, grandparents, and teachers want their children to learn, but better than this, every child wants to learn themselves! It is with this gift that anything can be achieved.
This is the reason we created Wunderkid, so we can help every Kid nurture and grow their special gift to learn.
Sometimes in our practice, we have met with children who are five, six or seven years old, that had "dull" look on their faces, as if to say, "Well, here we go again! Another boring teacher! The same old stuff, UGH!"
If we let the children keep this feeling of same old same old, they will begin to start to study to just please their parents or to just get by in school. Never striving for excellence or to study more, they will miss out on the opportunities to absorb knowledge and develop their learning abilities to their fullest potential.
We know it is not easy to keep up a child’s enthusiasm to learn with an everyday school routine. At our school, it is our intention to support the natural desire of the child to explore the world of learning through coloful educational games and activities.
Whatever your child's interests are: whether they like cars or locomotives, flowers or fish, stories or fairy tales, any of these can become part of a lesson. For example, machines can be counted, fish can be turned into a story, locomotives can be drawn, and fairy tales can be acted out. The most important thing for us is to keep the learning process interesting and ever evolving!
